This year at Warp, we're celebrating 20 years of music, film and design.

Events, releases and other celebrations will take place throughout the year... for now we'd like YOUR help to pick the tracks for the official Warp20 retrospective album, the definitive 'Best of' from the last 20 years.

Vote for your favourite Warp tracks on Warp20.net

The top 10 (by different artists) will be combined with those chosen by our co-founder Steve Beckett to make a 20 track album. Leave personal memories and messages about your choices and the best will be printed in the album art.

Each user has 50 votes in total, but you cannot vote for the same track twice. Voting will be closed on Friday 8th May.

We've already announced the first event happening 8th-9th May in Paris - lineup and tickets here - subsequent events will take place in New York, Sheffield, London and Tokyo. More info soon, for now get voting!

Look out for the full single release of the mesmerizing Tim Exile single 'Family Galaxy' on 30th April. Listen to it on a video clip here.

His enchanting long player, 'Listening Tree', will be released on Warp/Planet Mu a week later on 6th April 2009 (or this week in the US!).

Tim Exile's YouTube channel has some videos of him flexing the muscles of his custom built live setup - including mashing up Obama's inauguration speech live from TV and remixing Micachu and The Shapes live.

Londoners should note the special launch party on 7th April (tickets), and those elsewhere should keep an eye on Tim's upcoming shows in the live dates section below to catch some action

News of Grizzly Bear's forthcoming long player 'Veckatimest' has been causing waves across the Internet since it was announced a few weeks back... and with good reason.

The New York four piece hit an unbelievable clarity of sound and vision with the new material: Vocals (a duty shared by all band members) are sharper and more complex, arrangements are tighter, production is more venturous and lyrics more affecting.

It's released in May, but the great news is that there's a free MP3 of new track Cheerleader below...

Their sell out show at the prestigious BAM Theatre in New York got rave reviews, and it's been followed on shortly by an announcement of a stream of US Tour dates beginning in late May, see them all below.

Maximo Park





Maximo Park have announced their third album's name and release date alongside a free download of a new track from the album. This news follows unprecedented ticket sales for their UK tour when it went on sale earlier this year.

'Quicken The Heart', the bands third album, will be released on 11th May 2009 and was recorded in L.A. with producer Nick Launay (Kate Bush, Talking Heads, PiL). After a few listens we can safely say it contains some of the bands strongest work to date and is a bold and concise listen from start to finish.

Radio 1's Zane Lowe had the first play of the track Wraithlike from the album on Monday past and liked it so much he rewound it and played it again! Get it for free yourself below.

After laying down his awesome Warp debut Polyfolk Dance, Hudson Mo is bumping his stuff loud at live shows - check dates below and spot the special shows - launch party in London next Thursday, Warp20 in Paris, a Japan tour (with Clark & Tim Exile) plus a 3-way Pyramid of Boom with Rustie & FlyLo in his native Glasgow.

Meanwhile he's tinkering, booming and rattling away in his studio, coming up with some monstrous concoctions for his debut album (we should know, our ear's pressed firmly to his door!).

Guillermo Scott herren is one of the most prolific producers on the planet... we even have two forthcoming albums on Warp: a Prefuse banger and a new project called Diamond Watch Wrists, alongside killer drummer Zach Hill.

For the forthcoming Prefuse LP, Everything She Touched Turned Ampexian, G.S.H. chose the intensive route of recording to analog Ampex tape over digital recording, giving the album the sound of a lost tape of exploratory studio musicians past, but still with that classic P73 bump we know and love.

Bibio

We're proud to announce that Bibio (aka Stephen Wilkinson), has signed to Warp Records. A purveyor of colourful, summery, grainy music, admired by the likes of fellow Warp artists Clark and Boards of Canada, Bibio will release his Warp debut in late June.

It's a diverse yet inclusive record that sounds like a collaboration of countless musicians yet stems from him alone. You can hear a short blend of a selection of the tracks on the record for the first time anywhere below:

Gang Gang Dance played the Museum of Modern Art in New York a couple of weeks a go, just 24 hours after replacing all their incinerated gear!

Pivot

While Pivot are over for the big Warp20 celbration in Paris they've put together a short tour of Europe hitting UK, Germany, Benelux and Eastern Europe (see below for the dates). Tickets to the London show get a free 7inch when bought at Bleep.

Mira Calix

As part of this years Némo festival in April, Mira Calix will perform 3 concerts in Paris with cellist Oliver Coates and video artist Quayola.

Some new commissioned works will feature alongside Fennesz and others at an event to celebrate the statues menhirs, on the 25th of April. Rodez compilation to be released after the event by Arbouse Recordings.
