Battles' multi-instrumentalist composes full-length solo masterpiece to be released 14/15th September.

Like much of the LP, Platinum Rows was scored for a large ensemble. Recorded live with the Wordless Music Orchestra of New York, the album was entirely composed by Braxton himself.
Central Market was inspired by Igor Stravinsky, Bernard Hermann, Brian Eno, John Adams and Swans.
The album appears on CD, digital and strictly limited special-edition 180 gram audiophile double heavy-weight vinyl (which includes bonus track 'Ex Cathedra' and a free MP3 download of the album), to be released shortly after the CD and Download date.

Some new live solo bass videos have appeared on YouTube, seemingly filmed undercover at the same concert the live recording was taken from (thanks to David Saugy). The clips help visualize the masterclass bass playing featured on this release by Tom Jenkinson.

I Spit On Your Rave |

It's 2018 - Zombies dominate the earth and humankind has been mauled, torn and eaten to extinction. Warp Films and Film4 bring you I Spit On Your Rave, a mockumentary by director Chris Boyle about the first post-apocalypse zombie music festival.
The first phase of filming took place a few weeks ago at the Big Chill Festival 2009 where thousands of zombie-costumed ticket holders, led by Noel Fielding, entered the Guinness Book of World Records for the "Most Amount of Zombies Captured on Camera". A trailer of what was shot was screened at the end of the festival - watch it on warp.net with the completed film due to be released in 2010.

Grizzly Bear continue touring their new album Veckatimest - with a US tour beginning late September.
Their recent jam-packed London show at Koko - see reviews online from The Independent, Guardian and The Observer - can only serve to up the anticipation for their Barbican performance with the London Symphony Orchestra - which also sold out not long after announcement. Definitely peep the European dates in November to make sure you don't miss out, supported by St Vincent.

Warp feature ‘She, A Chinese’ Wins the Top Prize at Locarno |

The 62nd Locarno Film Festival awarded Xiaolu Guo’s "She, A Chinese" the Golden Leopard in the festival's international competition.
The Warp X/ Tigerlily Films production tells the story of a young Chinese girl, Mei, as she discovers the world and herself as she travels from East to West. Xialou Guo, talking about "She, A Chinese", described her ambition "To make a film with a strong attitude coming from the younger generation in modern China, speaking about contemporary issues".

The Toronto International Film Festival takes place from September 10th – 19th. Warp future releases 'Bunny & the Bull' and 'She, A Chinese' have both been officially selected.
They will both feature in the Vanguard category, which is described by the Festival as the programme that, "spotlights bold filmmakers that run ahead of the pack. It is dedicated to irreverent, stylistically playful films that challenge the boundaries of social discourse. Aimed toward adventurous audiences who delight in movies that push the envelopes of technology, culture and sexuality, these edgy films have a distinct, youthful feel."

Pivot
Pivot are all set for their first tour of the USA in September, including Warp20 (New York) and two shows with !!!. This tour follows a small run of dates in Europe which have run for the last week with performances at at Green Man, followed by a support with Tortoise on Tuesday and a bunch of European dates this week.

Bibio will follow his immense Warp debut album Ambivalence Avenue with an iTunes only digital EP, 'Maybe they appear in Graveyards', on August 31st - to be released Worldwide excluding North America.
The EP features new mixes from Bibio's cohorts Letherette and The Gentleman Losers, as well as album track "Palm of Your Wave" reimagined by Bibio himself as a haunting waltz and "Lovers' Carvings", one of the album's many highlights.
